Silverthorne History
The town of Silverthorne was incorporated in 1967 and is situated between the Gore Range and the Continental Divide. Over the years, the town transformed from a makeshift construction camp for workers building the Dillon Dam in 1961 to a full-service community for local residents. Two of Silverthorne's more popular establishments include the Nordic Center (for Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing only) and Raven Golf Course.
