Brian Fulbright did a stamped concrete patio for my front yard. At first it was beautiful. When spring arrived and the snow melted(2021), I noticed a large crack had developed. But not just a crack, the concrete was crumbling along the crack. Brian said he wasn’t sure why that happened. He said he could sawcut out a section and install grates. To which I said…yes. That was April of 2021. May, June, July, August all ticked by, but for many different reasons he never had time to fix my patio. I tried to help by purchasing the grates. September I said …ok you can wait until next season as long as I am first on your list. To which he said…yes. October, I was diagnosed with a terminal lung disease and notified (10/4/21) Brian of my need to have the patio fixed “sooner rather than later”. After winter thaw (2022) the patio had started crumbling and completely failing. He said it was a bad batch of concrete and the whole patio would need to be torn out and re-done. I told him to just make the patio like my driveway and that would be easier/cheaper for him. To which he said…no. Again, trying to help, I hired someone else to demo old patio at my expense. By the end of May 2022, I was pleading with him to fix the patio. Obviously, I in fact, was not first on his list. He showed up with a chip on his shoulder. Told me at least 8 times, that he had to get on the road to his brothers house in CA for Memorial Day weekend festivities. He chirped at me something about the grates not being necessary. I was confused because that’s the first I heard of that. I retreated to my house and did not speak to him again, because I felt he was looking for a confrontation. At first the patio was beautiful. Three weeks later it rained and most of the sealer washed off leaving a muddled, spotty and really ugly patio. The rain, also, revealed a pooling problem.
Below please read Brian’s own words in response to my issues:
Brian Fulbright’s own words:
“So a few things. The concrete failing is not my doing. It's bad material from crossfire batch plant and there are dozens of others around the county experiencing the same unfortunate results. I do not use them anymore. After one year I'm not contractually obligated to warranty anything so in a lot of ways I am doing you a favor because I do feel bad. I don't have to do anything. I drove by, and the puddle is barely larger than a dinner plate. The sealer is also unfortunate but there is no other that is better. They just changed the formula to be more environmentally friendly and it's not as good. Sealer always wears off over time and needs more applied. Just the way it is. It's not a perfect science and I do my best. I'm gonna have to think about replacing it again. At this point I'm not sure I can make you happy and I might be done trying?”
Brian Fulbright’s own words:
“It may be bigger than a dinner plate but not by much. The puddle is in the area where there's a reflection not the entire wet spot. It's not even that deep? Maybe 1/8". It's not that bad in my opinion. Not so bad it justifies ripping it out again.”
