Company Description
Thank you for your interest! I am Mackenzie Dodge, founder of the Grant A Wish Program, (not to be confused with the Make a Wish organization). We are a 501(c)3 composed of a group of community members that see our children hope, dream and wish to participate in a variety of activities, but who are unable to because they are product of an environment that is beyond their control.
Did you know studies show children who suffer from: poverty (19% in Mesa County), homelessness, physical or emotional abuse, neglect, or the loss of a parent, are more likely to suffer from: delinquency, teen pregnancy, substance abuse and dropping out.
Now this may not directly affect you, your children, or even your neighborhood, but it could be your future son or daughter in law, land developer, engineer, or even a running back for the Denver broncos... Like these:
Girls in foster care struggling with self-esteem issues that want to participate in Karate.
Or this boy that wants to play basketball… a few weeks ago his brother passed away and his father died last year.
Or this girl who is kind & helpful to others and is working hard to do her best in school, but is struggling emotionally due to abuse.
We believe our children do NOT have to become statistics! Studies show the ability to participate in activities with peers and role models has a positive impact on a child’s school & family life. Providing them the opportunity to achieve improved: physical, mental, emotional & social development thereby reducing their at risk behaviors & giving them a chance at success. By helping Grant A Wish, you literally impact the livelihood of our future community members and leaders.
That's why since 2008 our award winning organization, with the help of a coalition of community partners like
the City of Grand Junction, Hilltop Community Resources, Ariel Clinical Services and others, has offered children a chance at success by giving them an opportunity to participate in any program they are interested in. But we can only do it with your help!
The Grant a Wish Program relies on the donations of organizations, local businesses and private donors just like you, to ensure the success of our children by helping fund their dreams. Last year over 150 children we’re waiting to be sponsored for something as simple as a $39 swimming lesson. Since 2008 we have provide over $28,000 in programs to area youth, with over 175 children receiving scholarship in 2015 alone.
That’s why we encourage you: Don’t just give a gift this year, grant a wish….
Every year the need is greater and we hope you’ll consider the “Grant a Wish Program” as your charity of choice. Thank you for your consideration!
