The Story Of How White Mountain Jewelers Began
As a third generation jeweler, owner and founder Peter Tims began his training at the age of eight, when, with the help of his father, he began cutting semi-precious gemstones. By age 10, Peter was designing and fabricating silver jewelry. When he was 12, he started a six-year apprenticeship with a master goldsmith, followed by two years with an Arizona watchmaker.
After graduating from Northern Arizona University, Peter spent the next decade developing a working wholesale "trade shop." It was especially during these years, as he was repairing, sizing and manufacturing tens of thousands of pieces of jewelry that he developed the skills necessary to maintain consistent, precise control of the valuable jewelry he works on.
In November 1995, he fulfilled his dream by opening his own fine jewelry business in Show Low. Customers soon recognized the staff's dedication to quality work, and White Mountain Jewelers enjoyed phenomenal growth. A second store was opened in Pinetop in 1999 to better serve their customers.
Today, White Mountain Jewelers is one of Arizona's most technologically-advanced jewelry stores. Few jewelry stores can boast of offering services such as using a laser welding machine, computer-aided design (CAD) or computerized engraving. White Mountain Jewelers offers ALL of these services. White Mountain Jewelers applies this state-of-the-art technology to producing and repairing jewelry in a fraction of the time and cost of traditional jewelers, with the objective of giving you exactly, precisely the jewelry you want. In fact, Peter's designs have earned numerous awards and the attention of Phoenix jewelers needing custom design pieces for their customers.
At White Mountain Jewelers they offer the largest selection of bridal sets, the largest selection of diamond and colored stone jewelry and the largest selection of Seiko watches and clocks on the mountain. Their dedication to quality work, using the latest technology available, has attracted customers from throughout Arizona and around the country.
