Company Description
-Two Generations and Counting-
Romano, Patrice, and Family would like to welcome you to Vince’s Little Star. At Vince’s we try to maintain a level of quality that is consistent of that which it’s late founder would be proud.
Romano’s father Vincent Scaturro, in a career spanning over 40 years in the culinary business, first opened Vince’s in 1984. With his passing in 1989, Romano and his wife Patrice assumed the restaurants daily operations.
Vincent always operated his own kitchen and limited his growth to assure high quality service and products
he truly felt a commitment to customer satisfaction. Everything then, as is true today, was made by Vincent from scratch and using only the freshest ingredients.
A proud father of five boys, Vincent was sure his sons would carry on the tradition. Being raised with a ladle in their hand and an apron around their waist, Romano and his brothers were, without knowing it, learning their father’s trade. For the Scaturro boys, whether it was rolling meatballs or peeling fresh garlic, work in the restaurant was a way of life rather than a job. “Pop usually forgot when it was time to pay us. But we didn’t care because we got to eat all we wanted. And when it was slow we would go outside and play baseball” Romano fondly recalls.
Two of the boys eventually would carry on in their father’s footsteps. In addition to Vince’s in Cornville Romano’s Brother Mario, in Ukiah CA, also owns and operates his own trattoria. Both are similar and modeled after the original Vince’s in Hollywood during the 1950’s & 60’s.
Our claim “Cuisine in the tradition of the Old World” recalls one to an era when small family run restaurants were common. Dining at Vince’s today one is greeted and sense’s are aroused by many of the same sights, sounds, and smells as were present in the original restaurant on Sunset Blvd 60 years ago.
Today Romano’s own children practice their own apprenticeship. Whether it’s helping Pop in the back, Mom bus the tables or just playing ball outside, sons Giuliano and Domenic and daughter Angelina are, perhaps unknowingly, helping to carry on the proud tradition.
And most importantly after 30 years in business in the Verde Valley we would like to thank you, our customers, for your loyal and long standing patronage. If you’re new to the area or this is your first visit to Vince’s, feel free to stop in the kitchen and say hello to Romano and the gang. But most importantly, relax and enjoy your dinner.
Buona Sera e Buon Appetito.
