Company Description
The Springs Stewardship Institute of the Museum of Northern Arizona works
to improve springs stewardship, both nationally and globally, through
education and research. More than 20% of the United States’ endangered
species are groundwater-dependent, and springs provide the runoff supplying
our major rivers – i.e. the Colorado River, Snake River, Potomac, etc.
Thus, springs (ecosystems where groundwater reaches the earth’s surface)
play a vital role in the health and sustainability of our water resources.
SSI is committed to building awareness of the importance of springs, and
inserting these issues into the greater conversation of water management.
