I bought a new HVAC unit here. Also extended warranty. On July 1, 2024 I called Art Gardner because the cold air from the register had increased from 55° f to about 67°f indicating a freon loss. He showed up the next day and told me I needed new expansion valve and left. He came back on July 9 and said the freon had leaked out and charged $815.92 to replace it . On July 27, the unit would blow hot air only. He came back and said it was too hot to work outside, and I would just have to do without a/c until he decided it was cool enough to work outside. So here we are in August 1, sweating it out. He was paid in full, and won't finish the job
