Stockton History

Stockton was established in 1846 and named after Commodore Richard Stockton of the U.S. Navy. One of Missouri's "best kept secrets" is Stockton Lake, which spans 300 miles of shoreline and practically no commercial/residential development. The lake contains three secluded marinas, various swimming beaches/campgrounds, and has been noted as one of the top 10 lakes in the U.S. for sailing.
